Service Call Notes — Lab 20A, Dual Breaker Light, Porch Fan, Master Bath GFCI

Jobs same trip:

New dedicated 120V / 20A to the lab (cheapest clean way — talk it through).
Fix light that stays on unless two breakers are both off.
Remove porch fan and cap the wiring properly (weatherproof).
Check master bath GFCI — trips too easy; find cause or replace.

1) Lab circuit

Want: one new 20A / 120V home run to the lab (computers / bench — not house lights).
Please walk the job and price the sensible options (which panel, path, AFCI/GFCI if needed, how many receptacles).
Prefer solid and code-right over fancy. Prefer simple over cheap-and-sorry.
House has two panels in the photos — tell me which one makes more sense for this run.

2) Dual-breaker light (real fault)

Tested with the light itself (not a tick tester). Rechecked same day.

Two separate Challenger singles — no handle tie, different amps.
Normal light should die on one breaker. This one doesn’t.
Please find the tie-together (hot or otherwise), separate the circuits, and prove each light dies on one breaker only.
There’s a multi-gang switch box in the garage/storage area with mixed circuits in the same box — worth opening while you’re here.

Until this is fixed, both breakers need to be off before working that lighting. One “off” is not enough.

3) Porch fan — remove & cap

Take the porch fan down.
Cap the wires right (wire nuts + proper outdoor/weatherproof cover — no open splices).
Leave it safe if someone puts a light back later.

4) Master bath GFCI — trips too easy

Master bathroom GFCI plug trips too easily.
Check: bad GFCI, moisture, something on LOAD side leaking, loose neutral, or circuit mix-up.
Replace the GFCI if it’s shot; fix the circuit if that’s the problem.
